The Lagos State Governor and Chairman of the South-West Governors’ Forum, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, will on Tuesday deliver the Centenary Lecture of the Yoruba Tennis Club, YTC, in commemoration of the club’s 100th anniversary.

A statement signed by Gboyega Akosile, Governor Sanwo-Olu’s Special Adviser – Media and Publicity, and made available to journalists on Monday, said that the lecture, themed: “Democracy, Governance and the Lagos Spirit: A Century of Excellence”, will hold at the Greetings Hall, Yoruba Tennis Club, Onikan, Lagos.

According to the statement, Governor Sanwo-Olu, who is Vice Patron and a member of the Yoruba Tennis Club, will speak at a ceremony organized by the club, recognized as the oldest indigenous social club in Nigeria.

The Centenary Lecture forms part of a series of activities marking the 100th anniversary of the Yoruba Tennis Club, founded in 1928.

The event will be hosted by the Chairman of the Yoruba Tennis Club, Olawunmi Gasper.

Expected guests include members of academia, Civil Society Organizations, youth groups, students, members of sister clubs, and Heads of Diplomatic Missions.
