The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced that its governorship candidate for the 2027 election, Dr. Kadri Hamzat, will officially unveil his manifesto on Friday, October 30, 2026.

Director General of the campaign council, Musiliu Obanikoro,  while announcing the upcoming launch during a press conference on Sunday in Ikeja, noted that the event will take place at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts (formerly the National Arts Theatre) in Iganmu, Lagos.

According to Obanikoro, the campaign is anchored on continued shared progress and inclusivity, aiming to build upon the master plan and foundations laid by previous administrations, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stressing that it is important to guide jealously the strides made so far in the state.

He said: “The future of Lagos is too important to be left to chance because the decisions we make today will determine the opportunities available to our children, the strength of our economy, and the quality of life of millions of people who call this state home. Lagos has made significant progress over the years, but we are not unaware that more work lies ahead. Our responsibility is to protect the gains we have made, address the challenges that remain, and build a state that offers greater opportunities to all.”

Obanikoro highlighted Dr. Hamzat’s extensive background in both the private sector and public service, noting his PhD in Systems Process Engineering from Cranfield University, experience with global financial institutions like Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley, and his current tenure as Lagos State Deputy Governor are the indicators that make him outstanding amongst all.

He acknowledged the feats recorded under the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the APC Governorship candidate, Dr. Hamzat which has significantly transformed the state socio-political and economic landscape.

“From the Blue and Red rail lines to hundreds of completed roads and bridges, improvements in schools and hospitals, enhancing the culture and creative economy, to global level, new housing projects, and support for businesses and young people, the administration has continued to develop the state and improve public services. Dr Hamzat will draw on his experience in government to build on these gains, address existing challenges, and deepen the progress for the benefit of all Lagosians.” he stressed

He added that the manifesto will be made available for public download, inviting constructive feedback, comments, and suggestions from Lagos residents.

The manifesto presentation according to the DG, will run from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and will be broadcast live across major television stations and digital media platforms.
